Formula for UPS runtime calculation

To calculate the runtime, you can use the following formula:

Runtime (hours) = (Battery capacity (watt-hours) * Efficiency) / Load (watts)

For example, if you have a UPS with a battery capacity of 1000 watt-hours, an efficiency of 90%, and a load of 500 watts, the runtime would be:

Runtime (hours) = (1000 watt-hours * 0.9) / 500 watts = 1.8 hours

Keep in mind that this is a rough estimate and the actual runtime will depend on a variety of factors such as the age of the battery and the ambient temperature. It is always a good idea to have a UPS with a longer runtime than you think you will need to ensure that you have enough power in the event of an outage.
